Gifted learners and Common Core

The new Common Core state standards have come up at recent TAGAC meetings and families have many questions. Dr. Matier, PPS' Director of Instruction, has briefly discussed connecting PPS' TAG services and acceleration policy to both the Common Core standards and Smarter Balanced testing as they roll out in our district.

We will post info. as it is available - and please send any articles that you think may be of interest.

Reminder - Nomination forms due tomorrow

IDPF forms to nominate your child for TAG testing are due to Alameda Nov. 15 - that's tomorrow (Friday).

There are forms on the TAG board in the front hall and also at this link. Scroll down to find the identification process forms in six languages.

If you have questions about TAG testing, nomination or the TAG program, contact your child's teacher and TAG coordinator Christy Caton (ccaton@pps.net).
